Samsung 20nm NAND Flash Memory Being Tested

Samsung 20nm NAND Flash Memory Being Tested

Samsung’s following up its 30nm NAND chips from 2007 with some even-smaller 20nm ones. Write-speed is 30 per cent faster than the previous cards supposedly, and are being tested in up to 64GB SD cards before they’re rolled out properly.

If you pick up one of ’s high-capacity SD cards today, it’ll likely have one of their 30nm chips inside it, and while Samsung and Toshiba are both testing smaller chips it’ll take a bit longer until they hit the market in some all-new cheaper SD cards. [PC World via Engadget]
