Asus Announces 800MHz 'World's Fastest' Smartphone

Asus Announces 800MHz 'World's Fastest' Smartphone

Asus is laying claim to the title for the fastest smartphone in the world, and there's little reason to doubt them. The news, though, is hollow: P565 with its 800MHz Marvell processor is objectively impressive, but underneath the oppressive, unflattering veil of Windows Mobile 6.1 it's not lik

As the clubbers in Britain's first-ever eco-nightclub rave their little hearts out in the coming months, they'll be doing their part to conserve energy. Well, their feet will be, because the energy that powers 60% of the club is going to be generated by the springy dance floor beneath them. The spri

Electronic Circuits That Melt Into Your Body

Electronic Circuits That Melt Into Your Body

It makes me nervous too. I'm not so keen on the idea of circuits enveloped in a silk substrate, which melts into your body leaving just nanometers-thick layers of electronics. But it's for the best, trust me on this one. Until now, body-embedded circuitry was very limited. The electronics were ha

Samsung Launches 32 GB DDR3 RAM Module, Mostly Just Because They Can

Samsung yammered back in January about making a 32-gigabyte DDR3 RAM stick, and now they've unveiled the beastly piece of hardware for servers. These new 1.35-volt modules are also 20-percent faster than previous 1.5-volt DDR3 modules. Nice. That said, Mark heard straight from Samsung who said that

Disposable Paper Laptops

Disposable Paper Laptops

Root Nearly Any Android Device With One Click

Root Nearly Any Android Device With One Click

You could already root the Droid X with a single click, but now? Now hardly any device is immune. Even Froyo-powered phones are falling victim to SuperOneClick. Liberty!

There’s still not a comprehensive list of exactly what phones SuperOneClick is compatible with, but the initial word is that it’ll root the Nexus One, Motorola Droid, and Captivate among others. It’ll also allow you to side-load apps onto devices—like the Aria—that have been restricted by AT&T. It’s currently Windows-only, but expect it to be ported to Mac and Linux before too long. Another caveat: there’s no unroot button (yet), so make sure you’re sure. And as always, proceed with caution. [XDA Devs via Android Police, thanks Artem!]
